We talk a lot in the media about the importance of contemporary technology in activating school and university education to build educated youth, but when the talk is finished, it goes to waste, serving only temporary personal propaganda that has no credibility in reality.
Arab education systems also import plans, software and electronic equipment from advanced countries without working to cultivate or modify them to adapt to their Arab environments, and without training school cadres to apply them in their real field situations. The technical experiment fails at the official educational level, leaving information technology a field of wide exploitation in entertainment, communication, economics, public administration, and health services, and then in waging destructive malicious wars by rogue states and parties!
What is urgently required from official and private education systems is to twin contemporary digital technology with established school programs and services in what is known as integrated education, through a thoughtful preparation of curricula, teaching, facilities, equipment, and realistic human, psychological, and material services to enable them to absorb digital programs, equipment, and methods, and to advance their work together to develop education and the maximum development of learners.
This book is an objective contribution in this direction through the following:
• The backwardness of Arab education systems in investing in information and digital communication technology in education.
• Arab education is in the transition phase towards integrated preventive education
• Transforming collective school education into integrated information education
• Integrated Arab information education – future prospects.
